The exterior of the house was filmed on what's called Brownstone Street at Universal Studios. Fans of Home Alone can visit Brownstone Street in the Universal Lots, and it still looks the same. However, Times Square has been built on, modernized, and received a significant revamp when the Pedestrian Plaza was built in the early 2010s. It now looks significantly different, full of brighter lights, way more traffic, and a completely redesigned area. Completed back in 1888, the Rookery was designated a National Historic Landmark back in 1975.

When Kevin gets in the limo at the Plaza Hotel, he asks the driver if he knows of any good toy stores, and he's driven to Duncan's Toy Chest. However, the Plaza Hotel is directly across the street from FAO Schwarz (on which Duncan's Toy Chest was based), so Kevin need only look outside and wouldn't have had to be driven anywhere. In the gangster film "Angels with Even Filthier Souls" which Kevin watches, when Johnny fires at Carlotta the first row of gunshots last much longer when he later plays it to trick the hotel staff. Immediately following the scene with the pigeon lady in the concert hall attic, Kevin walks toward the railing and a boom mic is visible as a reflection in the window to the left of the screen.
A Classic Door Trap
The customs officials should still check on him and have noticed the error. As such Kevin would not have exited the airport. When running through the airport, a Marine in uniform walks by in the background. The Marine is in service alphas with enlisted rank on his sleeve, his cover has a quatrefoil on it, a uniform piece worn only by officers. During Harry and Marv's attempt to scale the stairs, they have a direct line of sight straight to Kevin. Soon after Harry and Marv are struck with the large pipe, Kevin is seen cutting the pipe's rope loose.

When Marv pulls the front door knob and the knob comes loose with several feet of string attached to it. He pulls it tightly with his back against the door and we hear the first staple shot. It's impossible for Marv to do a 180-degree turn and not hear the second shot. When Marv slides into the shelves holding the paint cans, he raises both arms and completely covers his face to protect himself from the failing paint cans. When he crawls out from under the shelves though, his face is completely covered in paint as if his arms were not covering his face. When Marv and Harry begin to chase Kevin out of Duncan's Toy Chest, Kevin stops to buy a cultured pearl necklace to trip them up.

He also has a love of video games, particularly those of Rockstar. Whether it be about film, television, or video games, Nathan loves a good discussion and has written hundreds of articles for Screen Rant. Rob's house is a little difficult to pinpoint. The address given in the movie is 51 West 95th Street, which indeed is a real brownstone, and it actually does look a bit like the location in the film.
That won't be necessary, sir. I still have some tip left over. No, no, wait, wait, wait, wait! The doorman will be happy to find you a taxi... And how are we this morning?
Why Would Rope Be Soaked In Kerosene?
When he later runs away, these items are not there. Near the end of the movie when all the kids are in the penthouse room, Buzz yells to try to quiet everyone down. He then blows on his fingers to whistle to get everyone's attention but only a faint raspberry blowing sound is made. In the next shot, everyone is paying attention to him.

On the way out, Kevin soon realizes that he just met the toy store owner, Mr Duncan. When Kevin encounters Marv and Harry outside the toy store, the camera zooms in on Kevin's bag with the name "K McCallister" embroidered on it. However, it should have read "P McCallister" because this is his father Peter's bag; Kevin was holding it since the family arrived at the airport and it contains all of Peter's money and his ID. Finally, Kevin heads back out into the night, and comes across a children's hospital. Remembering what Harry and Marv plan to do, Kevin hatches a plan to stop them before they can steal the money. Kevin returns to the house owned by his Uncle and Aunt, and much like his own house the year before, booby-traps it.
Joy Behar Shocks 'The View' Co-Hosts With Her 'Harry & Meghan' Review: "I Found the Show Boring"
Kevin comes across the building after illegally breaking in and catching a performance at Carnegie Hall. This is the most heartwarming location of the movie since Kevin wants to help children who are sick and having a difficult time have a happier holiday. Home Alone and its sequel, Home Alone 2, continue to be some of the most popular Christmas movies to watch each year.
In an email interview withPeople, Pesci recalled the real burns he sustained while filming the scene, which concludes with his character plunging his head into a toilet to put out the fire. But unfortunately for Harry, the kerosene in the toilet has the opposite effect. As night falls, Kevin heads to a house that supposedly belongs to his Uncle and Aunt, but finds it in a state of being repaired. Returning to Central Park, he finds an old woman tending to some pigeons.
It is impossible for Kevin to take back the envelope of money off the counter. When Kevin takes a picture of the criminals robbing the toy store, his pictures were clear at the end of the film. In O'Hare Airport, the wrong Peter McCallister is seen purchasing at a kiosk with March 1992 issues of "Cosmopolitan", "Good Housekeeping", "Glamour", and "Vogue" magazines visible. The film is set in December 1992 (this is established by the Plaza Hotel ledger when the the concierge checks Peter's credit card).
We busted out and we’re doing fine. At midnight tonight, we'll hit Duncan's Toy Chest. Then after that, we grab some phony passports and go to Rio. – He's not gonna talk to anybody. Let's go to the subway tunnel.
